The History of Seattle Veterinary Associates

Seattle Veterinary Associates was founded in 1971, by Dr. Sanford Olson, Dr. Donald Canfield, Dr. Stephen Jones, and Dr. Paul Dice, based on a vision of providing the highest quality veterinary care to pets in the Puget Sound area. The original practice was at the current location of Queen Anne Animal Clinic and opened in November, 1971. In December, 1972, Green Lake Animal Hospital opened and become the central hospital serving Queen Anne Animal Clinic and the acquired Ravenna Park Animal Hospital in 1981. Also in 1981 Dr. Patrick Richardson joined the partnership with Dr Stuart Spencer joining in 1997. Ravenna Park Animal Clinic moved and became Ravenna Animal Hospital in 2002. In 2005, Dr. Jeb Mortimer joined as our our newest partner. SVA continues to expand and advance the medical capabilities of all its hospitals and continues to strive to provide the highest quality veterinary care to pets and their families.
